Shrimp Boil Party

Steve has wanted to have a Shrimp/Crab Boil for a long time. Our Anniversery is Tuesday and he wanted to invite the Kids for a "Shrimp Boil"

Emily made the sign for the front door.
They came even on bikes!

It starts with a "Big Pot"

Then you add seasoning, potatoes, corn, onions and finally the Shrimp at the last.

You have to time each thing you add so they will all finish cooking at the same time.

Bottle water for beverage.

Cute little Alli, everyone loves to take a turn holding her.

...and the BoysDinner Served

It all goes on the table. No plates!

Everyone loved it!!!

Except these three ladies (not fond of fish).

But Grandpa loved it and taught the kids how to eat crab.

Mitchell was really taken with the crab legs.

Now for desert. Laura tested some cupcake recipes for a party next week.

Joni made fabulous Strawberry Shortcake.

The evening ended with the kids finding scorpins with a black like.

The kids liked this a little too much.

Jake's Birthday #10/Parents out of Town

Jake's turned 10 on Saturday and it just happened to be the same time the Beecher's parents were out of town. The kids were supposed to stay with Grandpa and Grandma but as it always happens they end up at Brent and Laura's.
Laura makes it so fun that they all want to be at her house.
Even Kate got to spend the night Friday night.
They had Donuts for breakfast, hair-do's for the girls, Krazy Sub for lunch at the park,
bowling, dollar store game, pizza and cake for dinner.
See what I mean. Laura is out of control.
Great Birthday for Jake!
Saturday morning Laura did all the girls hair.

Jake's Birthday Cake and check out the candle! It's tradition to have a not so ordinary candle to light and glow out.

February Update

One of my Goals for 2010 is to do something in the "Cultural Arts" each month

My sister Sally and I were able to get some tickets from some of Peg's friends that couldn't go and we were asked to tag along with the great group of Ladies

That was one of my goals I completed in February, another is center block for Quilts with a Spin.

I got a good start but a long way to go.

Way more work that I thought but I love it!
