This weekend we had a great Stake Conference. Elder Jeffery R. Holland was our visitor and we were all touched by the messages he gave on Saturday night and also Sunday morning. Saturday night we went one hour early and we were sitting about half way back. He did pass me in the hall and greeted and shook hands with the ladies that were waiting to get in the cultural hall.Sunday we went to the Red Mt. Institute 2 hours early. Laura had saved us seats (Brent sang in the choir)and we set in the back of the chapel. We had great seats but we waited 2 hours and then a 2 hour meeting. Steve saw a better chair in the Hall and traded it for the hard one we were sitting on. He did trade with me while we sang the rest song, that was good.
Sunday Elder Holland talked to the youth and said he wanted them to give 10 years to the Lord and the 10 years he wanted were the 12-22 years or 14-24 years. He said if they would let their parents, their leaders, the church make their decisions for the next 10 years (because they are older and wiser) they would have the foundation they would need to be on their own.
Elder Holland left us with a blessing on our stake. He blessed everyone within the sound of his voice. It was a wonderful blessing and left us with a message to "Keep the Spirit of the Lord in our lives".
It was a great weekend and I am looking forward to General Conference in a few weeks.
